The Zed-R 16 is a 16 channel Hybrid recording console designed by Allen & Heath to be the ultimate "record/produce and carry" system. The Zed-R16 houses 16 channels of audiophile quality mic-preamps along with a 4 band fully parametric eq. and 4 aux sends. These features give the Zed-R16 the ultimate in flexibilty. Incorporated on the back of the Zed-R16 are the latest technology IEEE-1394 Firewire ports for up to 16 channels of 24/96kHz transport as well as 16 channels of ADAT optical I/O. When used together the ZED-R16 is capable of handling 26 channels of digital signal through the included interfaces on the console. Allen & Heath didnt stop there and recognizing that many musicians and recording studios are recording directly to computers, The ZED-R16 is also a full surface controller. All of the custom designed faders can be mapped and write midi data, in addition there is a master control section which incorporates 12 MIDI data encoders, full transport control, 8 soft keys and 4 dedicated MIDI faders. No need for seperate interface, mixer and controller the ZED-R16 does it all. Included with the package is a copy of Cakewalk's SONAR LE recording software making this a turnkey system ready to record, mix, edit right out of the box. When you are done laying down your tracks, unplug the mixer and take it out on the road. The robust construction includes individually nutted pots, discrete vertically mounted circuit boards and a steel chassi.
